Daily Mass haha's
During his homily at today’s daily Mass, my pastor was able to connect a colonoscopy with Lent. He went through details of the prep of both. Knowing the demographics of my fellow daily Mass goers, I’m probably the only person who has not had the procedure done. Gross.

Lyrics and their translation to "A Dios le pido"

becket: Some good stories to help you get into the themes of Lent. I’ve only read Till We Have Faces and Uncle Tom’s Cabin but the rest sound good. Ooh! Now I know what to read for our Catholic Book Club.

qcq: amongstthorns: My name is Allen Mendoza. Thanks for visiting my tumblr! I’ve created this tumblr for specific reasons. Reminder: TOMORROW, February 22, is Ash Wednesday
It is not a holy day of obligation. But as my former pastor would say, it’s a holy day of invitation. Go to Mass. Receive your ashes. Remember that from dust you came and to dust you shall return. Oh, also fast AND abstain from meat. Two different things.

The Parable of the Kosher Deli by Bishop William... →
Most Reverend William E. Lori, the Bishop of Bridgeport and Chairman of USCCB’s Committee for Religious Liberty, testified to Congress regarding the HHS mandate using the most ancient method of teaching as taught by Our Lord - a parable. Once upon a time, a new law is proposed, so that any business that serves food must serve pork. There is a narrow exception for kosher catering halls...

bethestraw: Pope Benedict XVI’s Message for Lent 2012 It’ll take you about ten minutes. Come on. You can spare that. Print it out. Make yourself some tea. Read it. Reflect on it - meditate on your upcoming Lenten journey. It’ll be worth it. Here’s a taste to whet your appetite: “We must not remain silent before evil. I am thinking of all those Christians who, out of human regard or...

Pilgrimlog: Lady's Night -- Total Consecration →
pilgrimlog: Ash Wednesday is just around the corner. It is, of course, the start of the liturgical season of Lent: a time to fast, pray, and give alms. This year, Ash Wednesday is also the start of the preparation to renew my consecration to Jesus through Our Lady. It has been almost 4 years, on the… There’s an app for it?!?!

Lent is almost here and it’s time to think about how we can get the most out of this season. Lent is not just about giving something up. Lent is next week!
I’ve been so busy with school that I haven’t had time to appreciate that Lent is next week. I promise, there will be posts about Lent. Just haven’t figured out what approach I will take. During Lent, this blog will definitely have a different vibe: more solemn, more concise, less dense. It’ll all be directed towards spending less time in front of the screen and spending...
